There are jobs out there. And there are job-seekers out there. If you are a job-seeker, you want to be in high demand and low supply. Many years ago, I was watching a Mark Victor Hansen presentation titled, 38 Proven Ways to Close that Sale. He referred to those that mastered their trade as being in "rarefied air, being in high demand, low supply". Having a fascination with economics, this phrase stuck with me.

High Demand, Low Supply is a career and job-search blog written by the husband and wife team, Matt and Dawn Beckwith. 

Matt Beckwith has a long history of helping job seekers. His late mother, Faith Beckwith was a Certified Employment Specialist and owner of At Your Service, a professional career services company. When most kids were learning to play baseball, Matt was learning how to write great resumes, interview, and get a job.

Matt’s career as a manager spans 20 years. He has held leadership positions from front-line supervisor to Vice President, giving him a great deal of experience hiring and developing top talent. He worked in retail and restaurants before managing operations in the telecommunications, health care and financial services industries.

In addition to interviewing and hiring hundreds of people throughout his career, Matt has been writing resumes and coaching job seekers for more than two decades.

In 2009, in response to Forbes naming Stockton the most miserable city in America, Matt started Podcast Stockton, the show all about the great life in Stockton, and released over 100 episodes of original content and coverage of local people and events. Matt is an avid cyclist and board member with the San Joaquin Bike Coalition, former board member with the Library & Literacy Foundation for San Joaquin County, and event coordinator for the Stockton Earth Day Festival. Matt, Dawn and their teenager daughter Makenzy also volunteer with the California Rays, a local beep baseball team (baseball for the blind and visually impaired).

Dawn Beckwith transitioned from accounting and bookkeeping work to staffing in 1998. Since then, she has matched hundreds of job-seekers with employers throughout the central valley and northern California. She has experience with placing contract, temporary, temporary-to-hire, and permanent employees in professional, white collar, and blue collar jobs.
